"Rain falls on everyone. The same old rain and I'm just trying to walk with you between the raindrops." These lyrics are from the song, the inspiration for my blog, "Raindrops + Sunshowers" by The Smashing Pumpkins. The words and subjects are simple, but they mean a great deal to me. For those of you unfamiliar with the Pumpkins, Billy Corgan is the main singer/songwriter. In my personal opinion, he is a musical genius and an understanding poet. He can capture, with frightening honesty, any mortal emotion through his music. And this song is sending us a simple message. Yes, rain does fall on everyone. I know its there; it is nothing new. I can walk down the street and feel it falling all around me, but all I'm trying to do....is walk between the raindrops with you. There are things we all have to deal with, problems we all have to face. There is no way we are ever going to please everybody, because as we know...walking in between the raindrops is impossible. So all we can really try to do, is please ourselves. The rain is constant, but we just have to stick it out and wait for the sun showers.
